Girls on Campus

This was Katarina's first visit to Notre Dame!
I have always loved wandering around this beautiful campus. Michael brought our wagon for the two big sisters since visiting ND involves a lot of walking.
The weather was a bit chilly with daily rain showers for the weekend. Although I did pack long pants for everyone, we just wore shorts during our long car ride; so the afternoon we arrived, we put on jackets but still had on shorts when we first walked around campus. I asked Gabi, "Isn't this a beautiful place to walk around?" Gabi answered, "Yes. It's a cold and beautiful place to walk around!"
The evening before Katarina's baptism, Michael helped the girls light a candle and say a prayer at the Grotto.
Of course we went to the Bookstore and bought ND attire for each of us. We couldn't find any newborn-sized clothes, so we bought Katarina something that she'll fit into this fall instead. On our way out of town, we stopped by campus one last time and took these pictures of the girls in their new ND paraphernalia.
By the end of the weekend, I think Gabi and Bella finally figured out what "the campus" means. That was a confusing term for them all weekend, and its use prompted many questions and discussions.
